Temporary accommodation has contributed to the deaths of at least 74 children in England in the last five years, official data shows. Figures from the NHS-funded National Child Mortality Database reveal that 58 of those children were babies under the age of one. Temporary accommodation covers anything that isn’t a permanent home and is organised by the local authority.
