This week, the NFL world converges on Indianapolis for the scouting combine, where one of the most fascinating prospects in recent memory will re-enter the spotlight. The NFL has seen two-way players before, but no one quite as exceptional as Colorado’s Travis Hunter. For two years, Hunter has been a national sensation, standing out as both an unguardable wide receiver and a lockdown cornerback for the Buffaloes. This past year, he recorded 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 15 total touchdowns while also notching 32 tackles and four interceptions during the regular season en route to winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Hunter won other awards, too, of course. He snagged both the Biletnikov Award, given to the nation’s top receiver, and the Bednarik Award, given to college football’s top defensive player, to punctuate his dominance on both sides of the ball. It should come as no surprise that he ranks as the No. 1 prospect on our draft guru Dane Brugler’s top 100 big board.
