“Suits LA” is a spinoff of “Suits” – a sequel, sort of, but it feels like a seance. The show is an attempt to turn an unanswerable question into a little money, but the truth is, no one knows. The show distinguishes itself with quick dialogue, pert sense of humor and thrilling, wall-to-wall horniness, none of which are present here. The show is flat and joyless, and lacks the brilliant little scammer who stumbles into a law career under the tutelage of an alluring alpha. The main character, Ted, is a generic mad hunk who snarls within the first five seconds of the show, “My father left when I was very young, and I never respected him.” The show is an attempt to make hits like “Suits” but it’s not as good and lacks the original’s charm.
