It is looking increasingly likely that Darren Millar will become the next Tory Senedd leader after several potential contenders ruled themselves out. Natasha Asghar, James Evans and Tom Giffard have said they will not stand to replace Andrew RT Davies, who quit on Tuesday. Millar has seven firm endorsements from the party’s 16 Members of the Senedd – with Asghar saying she is also minded to back him but is waiting to see who else runs.
