Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has defended her internal leadership style, saying it’s not just about telling everyone how great they are. Earlier this week, some Conservative party workers were left unhappy after Badenoch used an all-staff call to say they needed to improve. She believes that everyone who works for the Conservative Party needs to be fully dedicated to the mission and if they’re doing a great job, they will be told so, and when they aren’t, they will be told the same. When asked if she was suggesting some of her staff were useless, Badenoch said no, she wants a high-performing organization and her leadership isn’t just about telling people how great they are, it’s about telling them how to improve. She also said that sometimes, it’s about having tough words when people aren’t doing well and words of praise when they are doing well.
