The Isle of Man, a self-governing British Crown dependency, is considering legislation to legalise assisted dying for terminally ill patients. If passed, it would be the first jurisdiction in the British Isles to do so. The bill would allow anyone over 18 with a prognosis of 12 months or fewer to live to end their life with assistance from a doctor. The move follows a similar proposal in Westminster, where MPs are scrutinizing a bill to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales.
