Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club book series is one of the most successful of recent years, with over 10 million copies sold and all four books breaking UK sales records. The fifth installment will be released in the autumn. The film adaptation, starring Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and Sir Ben Kingsley, has received mixed reviews from critics. Brosnan says he was nervous about taking on the role, but his co-stars helped ease his nerves. The film has a star-studded cast, but some critics have said it fails to make the most of its cast and is “nefariously lazy” and “flimsy.” The movie will be out in cinemas for a week before being available to stream on Netflix. Brosnan also spoke about his experience as James Bond and advised whoever takes on the role next to “get a good lawyer” and cast a close eye over their contract. The Thursday Murder Club is available to watch on Netflix from Thursday, 28 August.
